The Bible tells us that if you train up a child in the way
he should go, even when they are old they will never turn from it (Proverbs 22:6). Here at FPC Monroe we believe that the key to a lifelong walk with Christ is a firm foundation. We do that with a weekly program during the regular service in which we teach the kids about Jesus and the ways we can live in this world for him. We use the Open Life Church curriculum. By pulling stories and scriptures from the Old and New Testament, Open Life Church is able to provide moral instruction that is biblically backed. From showing our kids how to handle their emotions appropriately to how to be good disciples, God is at the center of what we teach.
The overarching theme for our children and youth is drawn from Romans 12:11 “11 Never let the fire in your heart go out. Keep it alive. Serve the Lord. “ We chose the name Kindle because we believe that this is a crucial time in our children’s development to gather the things that will help them keep the fire for Christ inside of them alive.
