Rev. John Westlund

Interim Pastor

A graduate of Georgia Tech and Columbia Theological Seminary, John has served in youth ministry positions for over 13 years and one year as a campus ministry intern at the Georgia Tech Christian Campus Fellowship.  He served Fayette Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, GA as associate pastor, 1997-2004 before serving as the Campus Minister for the Presbyterian Student Fellowship at Middle Tennessee State University (PSF at MTSU).  John enjoys anything to do with sports, playing golf, listening to music, playing the guitar on occasion, reading a good novel, and watching movies.

John and his wife, Holly, have now been married for 19 years and have been blessed with three children, daughter Avery, son Bryce, and youngest daughter Kendall.   They all have very much enjoyed living “back home” where the kids get to enjoy their grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins more often.  Holly teaches children with special needs at the Bedford School in Fairburn and could not have found a better place work.  Avery loves to sing and play volleyball, while Bryce just finished up another great season of little league baseball.   Kendall loves t-ball, gymnastics, and all are doing well and enjoying school.   The whole family is excited that Dad gets to go and serve with the “wonderful people” of the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe!
